A total of eight winners – five Rock and three Country singers/bands – will be awarded a $1,000 cash prize per band, a 2010 season park pass for each band member, and the opportunity to perform this summer at Noah’s Ark. The competition starts Monday, March 1 on radio stations in Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, Wausau and Eau Claire, with the winners announced on Monday, March 29.
The participating radio stations include: WMIL-FM 106.1 (Country), WOKY-AM 920 (Classic Country), and WQBW-FM (Classic Rock) in Milwaukee; WMAD-FM 96.3 (Country), WZEE-FM 104 (Top 40), and WIBA-FM 101.5 (Classic Rock) in Madison; WIXX-FM 101.1 (Top 40) in Green Bay; WIFC-FM 95.5 (Top 40) in Wausau; and WBIZ-FM 100.7 (Top 40) and WQRB-FM 95.1 (Country) in Eau Claire.
On Monday, March 1, entrants can begin registering their music act on the websites of each of the radio stations. Entrants must have a YouTube account to upload their performance video and provide a web link of their video to the radio station’s website in their market.
Station-approved music videos will be uploaded for anyone to view and vote on from Monday, March 1 through Sunday, March 21. Listeners can vote as often as they like.
On Monday, March 22, three to four finalists on each radio station will be determined by the highest number of votes cast. Voting for the finalists will take place beginning Monday, March 22 through Sunday, March 28. The music act with the most votes on each radio station will be proclaimed winners on Monday, March 29. In those radio markets where there is one or more Rock or Country stations participating, the winner will also be determined by who has the most votes on either station.
The eight winning music acts will be scheduled to perform at Noah’s Ark throughout the summer in 2010. Each band will receive a cash award of $1,000 at the time of their performance and each band member who appears in the winning video will also receive one season pass to Noah’s Ark for the entire summer 2010. Noah’s Ark will also provide sound, including mics, amps, speakers and mixer, for their performance.
