Rock the Ark Official Rules

Call for Entries: Monday, March 5 – Sunday, March 25, 2012.

Contest Dates: Beginning Monday, March 5 and ending Monday, April 2, 2012.

  1. Description of Contest/Participation.
    1. How to Enter:

Register your music act on the “Rock the Ark” contest page of the website of the radio station closest to your market or residence, beginning Monday, March 5 through Sunday, March 25, 2012. Previous “Rock the Ark” winners are not eligible to compete. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Odds of winning depend on number of votes cast for your music act.

    2. How to Play:

The “Rock the Ark” Music Competition is looking for the best Wisconsin Country and Rock Acts. Radio station groups that own one or more Country and Rock formats in Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, and Wausau have partnered with Noah’s Ark Waterpark and the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) to find Wisconsin’s top music talent in both the country and rock music genres. It is not required for music acts to currently be performing in venues around the state.

To register, select the Rock or Country radio station in your market with a music format that is most similar to your own music, i.e. Classic Rock or Top 40. Entrants must have a YouTube account to upload music video. Entrants register by sending a web link of their YouTube video to the “Rock the Ark” contest page of the radio station’s website, and emailing a copy of their bio, photo, phone number, address, email and website address (if they have one) to nancy(at)platypus-ad.com. All music videos will be reviewed by radio station management before uploading the entire video performance on to the radio website.

Entrants under 18 years of age must have a release form signed by a parent or legal guardian and on record with the radio station’s promotions dept. to enter the competition.

Registration will take place between Monday, March 5 and Sunday, March 25, 2012. All entries must be in by Sunday, March 25, 2012 to compete.

Beginning Monday, March 26, 2012, entrants, their family, friends and the general public can vote for their favorite music act on the radio websites. Only one (1) vote per person, per day. A link will be provided that band members can send to friends and family to encourage them to vote.

The Country music act and the Rock act with the most votes on the stations in each radio market will be proclaimed a winner. In markets where there are one or more radio stations with either a Country or Rock format, a winner will be determined by the highest number of votes cast for one music performer or act combined.

On Monday, April 2, winners will be announced. Both a Country and a Rock winner will be announced in each radio market for a total of eight winners.

  2. Prize(s).

Each winning band will be given a performance date and time they will play at Noah’s Ark this summer, and will receive $1,000 at the time of their performance.
