Watching the video, there was a bit of time that no one came down the slide and a guy in a white shirt went jogging/running up to that landing right at the bottom of the drop out of the capsule. Did someone get stuck there and they had to get them out or was there a problem with the slide or something? Curious to know if anyone who went today was waiting in line when this happened.

Today was a great day to come to Noah's, even though few attractions were open.  Upon entering the park, I was told by lifegaurds that The Black Anaconda was closed. I was inoformed that it would only be down for thirty minutes so I decided to ride Kowabunga. Afterwards, I headed next door to THE PLUNGE.  As always, I loved this ride and all of its airtime. I found myself climbing those stairs to challenge the Plunge thirteen more times today. Staring at Scorpion's Tail between every ride...

After my first few rides on the Plunge, I decided to try Jungle Rapids. I've always liked the speed one can gain on this ride. That's why I make sure to ride it every time I visit.

I ended up spending the bigger portion of my day RIGHT IN FRONT OF SCORPIONS TAIL.  Riding it?... No... It was closed until around 2:00 because it got struck by lightning the previous day.  The Black Anaconda was also closed due to it being struck by lightning, but didn't reopen.  I got interviewed by the Travel Channel
for their new show called "Bert the Conqueror". I was very fun to be interviewed. Something I had not done before.

After spending a considerable amount of time in front of Scorpions, I heard someone shout, "They're testing it". I got really excited hearing this, since no one was sure if it were openning it at all.  Everyone, including "Bert" went right up to the entrance. After seeing some testing done on it, I heard about an official openning ceremony with the cutting of the red ribbon... I was just watching all of the happenings on top of the slide, when Amy came up and asked if I wanted to go up to the top.  Sure... Cheesy So we went right up the Point of no Return entrance to get to the top of the ride.  At the top of Scorpion's staircase, the travel channel was filming several takes for "Bert the Conqueror". It very fun to see how all the filming for a new show happens...

Finally, they cut the red ribbon, and it was on to the ride... Bert got into the capsule, for the first "official" ride on Scorpion's. 3-2-1 drop he was gone. Cheesy
It wasn't until then, when I found out that I would be the second official rider on america's largest looping waterslide. I was suprised and very nervous for my first ride.

As I was entering the capsule, I was overjoyed at the fact that not only was I about to ride Scorpion's Tail, but also because I was the second official rider. Sure I knew that the ride had undergone many various tests, but this was the first time it was open to the public.   Back to the ride... 3-2-1.... drop....

It was INSANE, AMAZING, and EXTREME! The drop get you going to an extreme speed heading into the loop.  Where it really feels like an extreme overbanked turn.  With water spraying in you face throughout the whole ride, this ride is just an extreme rush. Bert was at the bottom of the slide, where he had me yell a big "IT WAS AMAZING!" into the camera.  Grin

An overall, great attraction to add to the park. DEFINATELY check this one out!
Good job Noah's Ark. Your finally back to what you do best... adding water rides! Smiley

Second rider ever for The Scorpion's Tail, congrats! Thank God nothing was damaged when it was struck by lightning, I could only imagine the disappointment if they had to close it for awhile and not be open for opening day.

How you describe the ride sure isn't making the wait any easier. Glad it seemed to surpass the hype for you. Did they say if Black Anaconda was damaged or anything? I really hope it's not closed when I go possibly next Saturday, it's my favorite ride (at least until I ride Scorpion's Tail  Grin ).

Sounds like a great new attraction for Noah's Ark! I can't wait to go on it sometime this summer. Was Scorpion's Tail smooth?

Thanks, No one was sure if Scorpion's was going to open today. I'm just really glad it did.  I guess the only part that was affected by being struck by lightning was the trap door. The ride was otherwise working fine.
Every time I went up to Black Anaconda, they simply responded "Thirty minutes" (I was there for over five hours"  It never did open.  They had water running down it for the first part of the day, but then they stopped  it to probably do maintenence.

And if I saw correctly, they had part of the raft lift in pieces.  Not a good sign, but if they were saying thirty minutes all day, the damage couldn't have been too bad.

The Black Anaconda is tough to be beaten. I'm not sure that anything has taken its place as my number one water slide spot. Scorpion's Tail is high in the ranks though.   Smiley

It was crazy smooth. No red painful back! Cheesy

Ziploc you got to be the number two rider?  And Amy took you up there to do so?  AND you got to be on the Travel Channel?  How come you get all the love?  What did you do to get in so well?  Huh

Lucky lucky lucky.

Man, I can't wait till my vacation later this summer.  I've gotta get back up to the Dells.

At least I was one of the first riders of Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey at Universal's ISlands of Adventure.  That was AMAZING!  But back to waterpark related stuff..

How was the ride?  Smooth?

Yes I did get to be 2nd rider to "Bert".  Amy called up to the Travel Channel people that were already at the top of the slide to ask if they wanted me up there.  So I got to see the ribbon cutting ceremony,
and watch Bert do several takes for his show before he got into Scorpions.

I responded to the post asking for Noah's biggest fans to come to media day.  I live about an hour from Noah's, so I'm glad we took a day to come.

I'm actually on my to the Dells right now to go to "ACE Mt Olympus Celebration", but don't know wether I'm going to be able to stop by for a couple of rides on Scorpions. Grin

Wow, how were you one of the first to ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey?  EVERYBODY wants to ride that.  To me about the ride.  I really want to go down to Orlando to ride Harry Potter, and see the new themed section of that park.

It was a really smooth ride.  You don't have to worry about having a red back for the rest of the day. Wink
I just loved that trad door and drop on Scorpions.  The trap door technology should be used more often on bodyslides, as it is a perfect anticipation builder.  I found this somewhat funny and scary: at the top of the ride, they have a sign that says "what to do if you get stuck in the slide" Shocked lol.   With the intense drop, trap door, and loop, I really think it's an awsome addition to Noah's Ark!

I'm looking forward to this ride.  While I hate heights and it looks kinda scary, I've heard so many good things about the ride, so I probably will try it out!

August can't come soon enough.

I rode Scorpion's again last week, and have to say that I enjoyed it more than the first time I rode!  The weightless feeling droping out of the capsule is incredible, along with the serious G's in the loop!  Grin

Can't wait to ride again. Wink

I mean I think the longest I waited for scorpion's tail was maybe 15 minutes Smiley  Black anaconda maybe 20 minutes tops...I was very impressed Smiley

Scorpion's is truly a great ride.  And the lines haven't been that bad for it during my visits.  I'm most likely coming to the park tomorrow, and will report how long the line is. Cheesy
